A fruity Speysider with a touch of Islay peaty and coastal tang.

Chapter 7 Whisky operates on one simple premise — each cask of Whisky is unique. The wood, age, temperature, its location in the rick-house… everything tells its own story. Large Scotch producers marry casks in large vats before bottling so that the master blender can try to make them all taste the same. The folks at Chapter 7 Whisky think that’s a shame. Chapter 7 is the brainchild of Selim Evin. He thinks that each cask should tell its own unique tale, so he travels to Scotland and Ireland to hand-select single casks from the inventories of the world’s greatest distilleries. Then he custom bottles each one with its own story. How many bottles, you ask? Well, until the barrel is empty.

Chapter 7 Monologue 12 Year Old Allt-a Bhainne 2008 Scotch Whisky is Chapter 7’s second partnership with the Allt-A-Bhainne distillery from the isle of Islay (This is the distillery that produces one of the main ingredients of Chivas Regal, btw). After their first collab was a huge success, the second release was much anticipated in 2021. This 12YO Single Malt was distilled in 2008 and aged for 8 years before Chapter 7 folk got their hands on the dram. They decided to finish it in their Islay Whisky casks from Caol Ila, which gives this Speysider a uniquely peaty and coastal tang. Bottled at 99.4 proof, we adore the fruity and well-balanced flavor profile of this rare dram. All Mologoue releases are single casks which literally means one single cask produced. Here’s a tip: if you want to get your hands on it, you better act fast as there were only 298 bottles yielded.

Smartass Corner:
Chapter 7 has organized their releases into three categories. "Monologues" are single cask releases with a strictly limited quantity. "Anecdotes" are small batch or select blends that cannot be reproduced. Finally, "Chronicles" are small batch releases that are reproducible.
