A unique Anejo aged in barrels, lined with agave syrup.

Casa Maestri is a family business that was founded in the heart of Jalisco, Mexico, in 2008 by Michael and Celia Maestri. But the story of the most awarded Tequila distillery in Mexico started way back: in 1951, actually, when the family of Mr. Jose & Celia Villanueva moved from a small town called Santa Ines, Michoacán, to Cordoba, Veracruz, to establish Licores Veracruz Liquor Distillery. Today, they’re one of Mexico's largest exporters of Tequila and if you haven’t tried their offerings yet, you’re definitely missing out.

Casa Maestri MFM Añejo Tequila is distilled with traditional methods from 100% blue Weber agave like all their expressions. What does this mean? Well, first the slow-roasted agaves are laid in stone ovens for 36-54 hours and then slowly ground, leaving behind only the sweetest notes from the combination of Highland and Lowland agaves. Aged for up to 14 months in ex-Bourbon barrels that were lined with agave syrup, this is one special Anejo. It’s very balanced with natural agave honey flavors, vanilla, and a dark chocolate-y finish. Oh, and it won Double Gold at the 2022 SIP Awards!

Really fantastic tequila here....

Really fantastic tequila here. The color was a bit darker than straw, and the overwhelming initial aroma was vanilla, combined with a buttery sugar.

The primary taste additionally begins with continued vanilla, then a stronger butter flavor, some honey, and then a bit of the oak.

I did not get any of the dark chocolate on the aftertaste, but closed with a very minor black pepper.

Also, the Mouth feel throughout is incredibly creamy. Really outstanding

This tequila is amazing. I’m...

This tequila is amazing. I’m fairly new to añejo tequilas, but this one has made me a fan for life. There are so many complex flavors (the guide really hit the nail right on the head), but they blend together perfectly.
