Brugal Papa Andres Rum 2018 Edition

Brugal Papa Andres is the highest expression of the families Rum heritage.

Don Andrés Brugal Montaner founded Brugal & Co, in 1888 in the Dominican Republic near Puerto Plata — Silver Port — on the north side of the island. Five generations of the family have worked the stills and warehouses over the last 130 years. Only family members are allowed to be “Master Roneros” (Rum Masters). The current generation of Master Roneros are Jassil Villanueva Quintana — the first female to hold the position — and her cousin Gustavo Ortega Zeller. They continue to produce highly regarded Rums in the local tradition across a range of seven finishes and styles.

For generations, the family kept a special house blend just for family and friends. In 2018, they issued this very special edition, creating Brugal Papa Andres — named after their founder. The Rum is exceptional, but the first thing you see is the stunning crystal decanter with silver finish. They only made one thousand of those decanters, and that’s how many bottles will be sold. The Rum itself is a hand-selected blend of casks from their warehouses. Each year is completely different in every respect. Like life itself, each yearly release must be experienced for itself.
