When a Scotsman moves to the United States, only one thing can happen. The Scotsman starts making a peated American Whiskey. At least this was the case of Alastair Brogan who moved to the States to pursue his dream of making fine Whiskey. Barley, yeast, water, oak, and the pursuit of happiness, he says. Founding a small Colorado Whiskey company, the Boulder Spirits guys have big dreams, even bigger goals, and the biggest pot still in the Cowboy State. Their range includes American Single Malt Whiskeys, Bourbons, and Gins, all made in their unique way that brings new flavors to old traditions.
Boulder Spirits Bottled In Bond Bourbon is one of the very first Bottled In Bond American Single Malts. Luscious, rich, and well-matured, this pot-distilled Bourbon is based on a unique mash bill of 51% corn, 44% malted barley, and 5% rye. Aged for 4 years in 53-gallon American oak barrels in the dry Colorado climate, it’s then cut down with Eldorado Springs water to 50% ABV. Only 10 barrels get bottled at a time. This is a superb Bourbon with notes of dark molasses, toasted bread, fig, and raspberry. This stunning expression of the Colorado terroir won Double Gold at San Francisco Spirits Challenge.
