A small-batch offering that’s perfect for sipping on a cold, snowy day.

Jim Beam Distillery — the integral part of mega-corp Beam Suntory — is one of the largest Bourbon producers in the world. Seven generations of the Beam Family have worked the stills there since 1795. The Jim Beam Distillery makes offerings for it’s core Jim Beam line and several brands, including Red Stag, Jacob’s Ghost, and a selection of higher end “small batch” Bourbons — Baker’s, Basil Hayden’s, Knob Creek, and our Bourbon of the day, Booker’s.

Booker Noe, Jim Beam’s grandson and Gen. 6 Master Distiller, never strayed from the surefire path of his ancestors. When everyone succumbed to the craze of light Whiskeys, Booker kept it true and carefully curated.

Booker's Bardstown Batch 2021-03 pays homage to the homeplace of 6th generation Master Disiller Booker Noe. While born in Springfield, Kentucky, Booker spent most of his life in Bardstown, hanging out with Jim Beam and his friends. Today, his son and grandson Fred and Freddie Noe a.k.a. 7th and 8th generation Master Distillers also live right in the birthplace of Bourbon to continue the family tradition.

Released in limited quantities, this special release was aged for more than 6 years in charred white oak barrels. Uncut and unfiltered, this amber colored Whiskey comes at 125.5 proof with full-bodied flavors of spice, wood, caramel, and brown sugar. The ultimate winter sipper.

Decent juice. Not their best batch, but not bad at all. I'd put it a little lower than Makers Mark Private Select, but definitely not worth more!

I paid $110 for this locally after haggling. I am disappointed for the price I paid but a lot of folks seek to enjoy this one. I found it had a mild profile on the front and then hit you hard with a cinnamon red hot style finish. I can see it captivating some folks. For that reason I went 7/10. While it’s not my ideal profile it is a quality pour that I think will be even better for others.
