It takes a special kind of skillset to really master the art of blending and sourcing the best premium Spirits when the world is your oyster and the folk at Barrell Craft Spirits certainly seem to have it. Created in 2013 in Kentucky by Joe Beatrice who wanted to share his passion for unique, high-quality Spirits with the world, the BCS lads certainly enjoy being progressive. They do stick to tradition when it comes to the essence of Bourbon, though. This means no coloring, flavoring, chill filtering, or water. Just pure Bourbon. Some serious award-winning stuff, we tell ya. Case in point: their Blended Bourbon single-handedly announced the rise of the Blended whiskey when it was awarded Double Gold at the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Barrell Bourbon Batch 031 blends together 6, 7, 10, 15 and 16-YO Bourbon barrels. Distilled and aged in American white oak in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana, this blend builds around the sweetness of the first group of 99% corn Bourbon barrels and the second group of wheated bourbon barrels. The 15YO and 16YO bring a gentle nuttiness and oak to the table while the selection of 10YO barrels delivers milk chocolate and tropical fruit. This was the finalist at the 2022 Ultimate Spirits Challenge where it received 95 points and Gold at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Best savored neat or with a few drops of water.
