The 120,000 members strong Ardbeg Committee is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and the distillery honored it with an exceptional release.

The peated delicacy is the first one from this Islay distiller to be matured in Pinot Noir casks from New Zealand, which brings lovely red fruit aromas. The Whisky is smooth and dangerously easy to drink. And yes, there are three a’s in the name because it celebrates the black sheep members. Pretty raaad.

Appearance / Color
Light amber.

Nose / Aroma / Smell
On the nose, a light smokiness introduces notes of cedar wood, vanilla, pepper, and cinnamon. As it evolves, it becomes fruitier and oakier.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
The fruity and creamy palate is consistent with the nose and features opposing sweet and savory flavors. In addition, a hint of dark chocolate and coffee adds a nice complexity to the overall taste.

Finish
The finish is long-lasting and characterized by sooty and nutty notes that linger on the palate.
