Angel's Envy Tawny Port Wine Barrel Finish Bourbon

Before we dive deep into the dram, let’s get one sip straight. Tawny Port Wine (excuse us, if we’re pointing out the obvious) is usually made from the ‘red’ variety of grapes and aged in wood barrels.

With that out of the way, Angel’s Envy is no stranger to ‘less conventional’ aging and/or a totally individual approach to innovation. Still, the concept itself is seductive and unexpected. This 2020 release features a lush 10-years-old Whiskey comes in that 10-month stretch in Port Barrels. It’s on the firmer side, but the fruit on the palate balances it out and presents us with a tipple one wants to turn to regularly.
