Have purchased the Advent Calendar almost every year, Last several years in a row. This years is got to be one of the best thus far.
Day 1, started with a pop, I give Bhakta, 8
Day 2, Sir Davis, light and smooth, 9
Day 3, Loch Lomond, a bit hot, smoky/peaty for me, 7
Day 4, Chicken Cock, 8
Day 5, Oaklore, 8
Day 6, Kujira, was stationed in Okinawa in the 1980’s, wish I had tried this then, 9
Day 7, 15 Stars, another great dram, 9
Day 8, Frey Ranch, very good Rye, 8
Day 9, Mary Dowling, I got a bit of the Tequila taste, 7
Day 10, Two Stacks, I got a bit of a peaty taste, 7
Day 11, Guard Bridge, again a bit too peaty for me, 7
Day 12, Westward, every blend I’ve had from this distillery have been good, a bit hot, long finish, this one, 7
Day 13, Courage & Conviction, a bit hot, long finish, 7
Day 14, Oregon Spirt, a bit hot, long finish, 7
Day 15, Akashi, again, stationed in Okinawa in the 1980’s, wish I had tried this one as well, 8
Day 16, Hai Seas, not sure if I’ve had a Chinese Whiskey before, but look forward to sampling more, 9
Day 17, New Riff, very smooth with a velvety finish, 9
Day 18, Kyro, a bit too hot and smokey for me, 6
Day 19, Finvara, another great Irish Whiskey, 9
Day 20, Lodestar, who’d think LA could produce such a good whiskey, 8
Day 21, Woodinville, another distillery that every blend I’ve had, have been good, 9
Day 22, Natterjack, probably the best Irish Whiskey I’ve tasted, 10
Day 23, Heaven’s Door, smooth with a pleasant finish, 8
Day 24 the finally, Martingale, technically not a Whiskey/Whisky, a great dram to finish off our around the world journey, 9
