1792 single barrel takes their signature Bourbon up a notch.

The Barton 1792 Distillery has been in operation since 1874. It gets the name “1792” from the year Kentucky became an official state in the United States of America, and it is also the name of one of their signature single barrel Bourbon Whiskies. The Barton 1792 Distillery and Barton Brands are owned by Sazerac — one of America’s largest spirits companies. They control dozens of brands from low end to high end — mostly American Whiskies and Bourbons — that are distributed around the world. The 1792 line of products are all premium, high-end Bourbons. They have their core small batch, several wood-finished Bourbons, a cask strength version, and their single barrel.

The core 1792 Bourbon is really well respected, and the single barrel is one step ahead. The process is simple — find the top handful of Bourbon casks from the aging warehouse and bottle them up one-by-one at a potent 49.3% ABV so that each battling retains its unique character. Since there is no blending of casks, there will be subtle differences in the bottle you get today from the one you get next month. But if you are a fan of great Bourbon, that is all part of the fun.
