The original and most awarded Belizean aged Rum.
Jaime Omario Perdomo Sr. opened a bar in Belize City in 1953. Since nearly all of his customers were either tourists or traders, he named his little bar Travellers. He sold local and imported Spirits. But eventually he began to contract his own blends. From there it was a short step to making his own. Today, Travellers Liquors is the largest producer in Belize making a wide variety of Spirits.
1 Barrel Rum is not a "single barrel" Spirit. Rather it is a part of a line up that indicates its relative age. This is a blend of 100% Belizean Rums that has been naturally fermented, double-distilled, and aged a minimum of two years in ex-Bourbon casks. It is said to be the "first and favorite" aged Rum in Belize, where it was created in 1964. And since its inception, it has won over 10 Gold Medals at major international tasting events along with other awards — far too many to list here.
