Flaviar Whiskey Academy - Class 2

I'll be honest, I mainly signed up for this as a way to sample a large variety of whiskey. Despite that, I came away from it with a better idea of how to express what it is I'm tasting when I try a new dram. For example, I knew that rye added "spiciness" but I didn't fully understand how that translated to the liquid that was in my glass. Now I do. Plus it was just a fun thing to do. Highly recommended.

Anyone that is considering purchasing this, do it.
Great way to learn about the complexities in whiskey. Can’t wait for the third class. Oaklore Rye and Mary Dowling Biurbon finished in Tequila Barrels were my standouts.

I hope lesson 3 is as good. This was a phenomenal learning exercise with great examples of everything relevant that reinforced the learning objectives. Moving up to 5 samples instead of 3 was perfect, aside from the typos in the lessons that don't reflect that change. It definitely seems like their systems have growing pains but this is not the place to review that.

Great samples to try and great information

Class 2 was a real highlight. I never thought grain selection could be so fascinating, but this lesson made it crystal clear how mashbill shapes everything in the glass. Accessible, engaging, and genuinely useful. Can't wait for the next one.
