The inaugural release of a new classic Irish Single Pot Whiskey to make you smile.

The village of Drumshanbo sits in the middle of nowhere. Well, it’s somewhere, just not in a big city. It’s a rural town at the tip of Lough Allen in the northwest part of Ireland. This remote, picturesque location is where PJ Denise Rigney and his wife Denise decided to build their dream distillery — The Shed. PJ’s specialty is brand-building and marketing but he had been working with major Spirits companies, which ignited his passion. Opened in 2014, The Shed Distillery is fitted with the finest copper still — each ordered to fulfill the requirements of the signature Spirits they make.

Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is the inaugural release of their Irish Whiskey and the realization of a dream. It is also the first Irish Whiskey to come out of the region in more than one hundred years. It’s triple-distilled by hand in small batches in copper pots. The mash bill follows a very old-school tradition of using malted barley, un-malted barley, and Irish Barra oats. The Spirit is aged in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks and bottled at a pleasant 43% ABV.

What does Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.
Dog Dogson
Dog Dogson's
Irish Whiskey has many varieties: grain Whiskey, malted barley pot-still-distilled, and ‘pure pot-still’ (or ‘single pot still’ as it is now officially known). Then there is Poitin, one of the first Spirits ever made.

Tasting Notes

Appearance / Color
Warm Gold

Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aroma is thick and rich with notes of vanilla flan, granola clusters, dark ganache, dried cherry and apricot, and toasted oak.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
The palate is balanced and creamy with notes of spice cake, chocolate oranges, sultanas, mission fig, and butter toffee with a kick of spice.

The finish is long with baking spices, more raisins, and a hint of Nutella.
Ratings & Reviews
I like this whiskey. The vanilla and oak come through but then it's smooth with a little spice on the backend.
