A blend of twenty-three Golden Rums created by a cocktail-making legend.
Banks Rum was founded by legendary bartender Jim Meehan. He ran a trendy bar in New York City in the East Village called PDT. He went on to win a James Beard Award for beverages — an impressive accomplishment. But the point is, this guy knows his stuff. And he took all that knowledge to found Banks Rum in 2008 — named after the famous explorer and botanist Dir Joseph Banks. He has partnered with master blender Arnaud de Trabuc to create a signature line of premium Rums.
Banks 7 is a blend of twenty-three Golden Rums from eight distilleries across seven Tropical nations — Guatemala, Barbados, Jamaica, Panama, Barbados, Guyana, and Java. The Rums vary in age from one to eight years-old, with each Spirit helping to shape the unique character of the whole. The result is complex and a bit dry without too much sweetness.
Appearance / Color
Dark gold
Nose / Aroma / Smell
A complex tropical aromas with hints of red apple and sugar on the nose, light oak is present.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
A good caramel body with creamy tropical fruit flavors and an earthy, herbal palate.
Finish
A little shy but long spicy and textured finish. Peanut butter and apple, with a hint of mint and wood spice.
