Challenging the traditional conceptions of Rum.

From an explorer and botanist Sir Joseph Banks, who sailed the seas back in the day with captain Cook (yes THE captain Cook), comes this original blend of 23 Rums from around the World.

23 Rums from the islands of Barbados, Guatemala, Guyana, Jamaica, Panama and Trinidad are carefully selected and blended into this full flavoured, complex Rum. And another interesting thing – there's even a little Arrak from Java, Indonesia in this blend. Arrak is similar to Rum in style, but is produced from red rice. W-o-w. Each of the Rums gives the final product an exceptional character that has a different story to tell. Arrak from Java gives it a touch of spice, and the pot stills from Jamaica provide it with exceptional aromatics.

Banks 7 Golden Age Rums are aged between one and seven years in ex-Bourbon casks and are then combined together by Masterblender Arnaud De Trabuc. So winds, soils and of course sugar cane from around the World are akin in every drop of this Rum.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Rum is why we measure alcohol proof. To make sure Rum wasn’t watered down, it had to be ‘proven’ by soaking gunpowder with it. If it was ‘overproof’ (higher than 57.15 % vol.), then the gunpowder would ignite, if it wouldn’t, it was ‘underproof’.
