A Medley of All-American Whiskey Hits.

From sweet and soulful liquid tunes to real head-bangers, this Tasting Box is jam-packed with a medley of all-American Whiskey hits that'll have your taste buds rocking out! Give your favorite classics a long-overdue rest and tune into something new and exciting—it just might get you into a whole new rhythm. So crank up that palate to 11 and immerse yourself in the harmonious melodies of this extraordinary collection.

First up, we're playing J. Rieger & Co. Kansas City Whiskey, an old-school sweetheart tune making a comeback tour. Once the heart and soul of Kansas City's distilling scene, this harmonious blend combines Straight Bourbon, light corn Whiskey, and Straight Rye Whiskey with a lil' drop of 15-year-old Oloroso Sherry from Jerez for a sweet encore.

Next, we're cranking up the volume with Fistful of Bourbon. This Whiskey is William Grant & Sons' debut single in the Bourbon world, led by the talented Kelsey McKechnie. Think of it as a super-group made up of five American Whiskey stars, each bringing in a different, unique flavor to the mix.

Lastly, we're headbanging to the rhythm of Blackened American Whiskey. Crafted by Dave Pickerell, former Master Distiller at Maker's Mark, this blend was literally rocked to perfection, matured next to giant Woodstock-worthy speakers blasting Metallica. This award-winning hardcore blend of well-aged Bourbons & Ryes, matured in black Brandy casks, brings a mosh-pit of flavors creating a Whiskey equivalent of a platinum record.

So, are you ready to press play on this mixtape of American Whiskeys? Trust us, this is one playlist you'll want to put on repeat.

SMARTASS CORNER

1) Corn Whiskey is a commercial product that must contain at least 80% corn, be distilled at less than 80% ABV (160 proof), and, if wood-aged, may be aged in either used or new un-charred barrels.

2) An un-aged American Whisky is often called a “white dog.”

3) Bourbon rules refer to manufacturing methods rather than location. Bourbon must be matured in new and charred American white oak casks for at least 2 years. If the bottle has no age statement, the Bourbon is at least 4 years old. No coloring or flavoring of any type is allowed, and the mash bill must contain at least 51% corn.

4) Bourbons have very prominent notes of vanilla, as American White Oak is naturally high in vanillins.

5) Missouri is America’s white oak wood shopping mall. While other states have white oak trees, Missouri boasts whole white oak forests. It supplies the world with Bourbon and Whiskey barrels.

6) On July 11, 2019, the state of Missouri signed a bill that gave Missouri Bourbon the official state designation. To be classified as Missouri Bourbon, a product must be mashed, fermented, distilled, aged, and bottled in Missouri, as well as aged in oak barrels manufactured in Missouri.

7) During Prohibition, Southeast Ohio moonshine was the cat's meow! Brewed on the QT in old coal mines, it was a hot ticket for Chicago's gangster elite. Yep, even ol' Scarface Capone was in the mix. Now, that's what I call a 'shine with a story!

8) Ohio's on the cusp of embracing its inner bootlegger! A fresh 2023 bill could see residents whipping up to 200 gallons of homemade hooch yearly, no permit asked.

9) Ohio Whiskey, with its youthful character, stands apart from the more mature Kentucky Whiskey. This is all thanks to distinct aging methods and regional influences shaping their flavors.

10) George Washington's Distillery was renowned for its whiskey, a blend of 60% rye, 35% corn, and 5% malted barley.
