Real Tennessee Moonshine that is like a great Corn Whiskey without the time in the barrel.

In 2009 the State of Tennessee changed its laws to allow distilling — and thus the making of Moonshine — for the first time in more than one hundred years. Joe Baker and his family jumped at the chance to get into the game. They have had raging success since then, opening four themed, visitor-friendly distilleries in their home state and creating dozens of flavored Moonshines and Whiskies that are now available across the United States and around the world — some of them strong enough to peel the paint off a battleship, some bordering on Liqueur, all of them delicious.

Hickory Cane corn used to be the only kind grown in eastern Tennessee back in the first half of the 1900s. That means that it was the grain of choice for the original Moonshiners. Nowadays, different varieties of yellow dent corn are more popular since they produce a higher yield, yadda yadda yadda. But when they launched Ole Smoky Distillery, they wanted to use the same recipe that their ancestors had.

Ole Smoky Original Moonshine is made from heirloom Hickory Cane corn and natural spring water. It’s distilled until pure and jarred at 50% ABV. It’s as pure a Tennessee Moonshine experience as you’re ever likely to find.
