This here's your golden ticket.

In the Brooklyn Navy Yard, on the waterfront that was once known as the distillery district, there’s a proud red-brick building that houses the first distillery in New York City since the Prohibition. And even if it’s a mere decade old, it’s actually the oldest distillery in Big Apple. They mash, ferment, distill, and bottle right there in that building, using New York grains. Practically the only thing that's imported are the Scottish copper-pot stills. In the short time that they've been operational they were named Distillery of the Year by the American Distilling Institute and have won several awards, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition included. Do we have your attention yet?

They also make a mean Moonshine! Somewhere along the way, they got the bright idea of creating the Chocolate Whiskey, based off that unaged corn goodness. They teamed up with fellow Brooklynites Raaka Chocolate, who operate from their factory in Red Hook, and infused the Moonshine with ground cacao bean husks. It's rich and bitter chocolaty goodness, propped up by the sweetness of the Moonshine.

What does Kings County Chocolate Whiskey taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Kings County Chocolate Whiskey and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.
Dog Dogson
Dog Dogson's
Tennessee Whiskey closely parallels Bourbon, but final filtering through sugar-maple charcoal (called the Lincoln County Process) is what some producers say differentiates them. Tennessee Whiskey’s finish is sweeter and smoother than Bourbon.

Tasting Notes

Appearance / Color
Dark chocolate

Nose / Aroma / Smell
Intense dark chocolate hits the nose right away and is joined by sweet cherry, raisins, and a touch of wood and spice in the background.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
Dark, bitter Chocolate is prevalent on the palate with the sweetness of the Moonshine shining through along with some cherry and berry fruit notes.

The finish is spicy with some noticeable heat. It lasts long too, with a lingering cocoa note.
Ratings & Reviews
taste like baking chocolate, very bitter and awful smell. Would not order again
It's not something I would drink straight, but I particularly like it for making chocolate Manhattans. I use half this, and half an unflavored bourbon. Add some cherry or walnut bitters, your favorite sweet vermouth and drunken cherries to garnish and you're all set!
Didn't mix well with the chocolate and whisky straight. Might go well with ice cream though
This isn't a whiskey I enjoyed sipping on its own. The chocolate flavor is more like baking chocolate. Great for a cocoa old fashioned or boozy coffee.
This stuff is delicious all around. The chocolate flavor is in the family of dark chocolate and is delicious in your coffee, hot chocolate, or even a milk shake.
