A couple drams of this rich & complex New England Whiskey and you'll be fluent in the Boston accent.

Boston Harbor Distillery is a waterfront warehouse by the Neponset River, where Rhonda Kallman decided to use her 25 years of experience in making craft Beer to create something new and exciting. She hired Dr. James Swan, the world-famous Whiskey expert, and John Couchot, an award-winning distiller. The magic trio came up with hundreds of barrels of various Whiskeys, a small-batch Rum, and even distilled Beer (to remind Rhonda of the craft Beer movement).

The Putnam Single Malt Whiskey is among the less experimental releases from the Boston Harbor Distillery. It makes sense, being the first Whiskey that they distilled in 2015 โ€• gotta start with the basics! It's no "basic" Spirit though, let's get that out of the way. It's a 100-proof grain-to-glass affair that's crafted with two-row malted barley and distilled in a Vendome copper pot still, then aged in toasted & charred new oak. Rich, bold, smooth, and complex, it's a decidedly New England Spirit with a Scottish soul.

Flavor Spiral TM
  • woody woody
  • bread bread
  • nutty nutty
  • coffee coffee
  • honey honey
  • fruit fruit
  • spicy spicy
  • vanilla vanilla
  • mint mint
Appearance / Color
Deep Copper

Nose / Aroma / Smell
The nose has a herbal quality to it with wood, freshly-baked bread, a touch of nuts, and a hint of coffee.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
It's a complex palate with honey, fruit, baking spice, vanilla, and just a touch of mint.

Finish
The finish is long with lingering chocolate, coffee, and spice notes.
