A fierce Rum surprise from India.
Back in 1492, Chris Columbus set off to find a new way to India. Since GPS was offline at that moment, he missed a turn and ended up in the Bahamas. Since he was a proud man, he refused to admit his mistake, so he called the area the West Indies. The place became the powerhouse of Rum production, but incredibly enough, Christopher's initial destination produces Rum as well. Gautom Menon, a native of Kerala, wasn't impressed with stories told by his family distillery, so he brought home a butt load of Rums and tested more than 500 of them. He found the perfect flavor and called it Wild Tiger Rum in 2016, creating the first premium Rum in India. He found out that sugarcane spread from ancient India to the Caribbean, and Wild Tiger owns its heritage.
Wild Tiger Special Reserve Rum is an aromatic Rum with notes of vanilla, almond, toffee and honey, and it comes in a plush tiger-skin bottle cover. It's aged in charred American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, and its character is refreshingly unique. The Spirit also has a cool charity twist as 10% of the profits go to the Wild Tiger Foundation that strives to protect the endangered Tigers of India.
