Cambio Tequila Reposado is the vanguard of change. With its pioneering 10-point process, Cambio turns tequila-making into an art form. Low and slow-roasted Blue Weber Agave for superior flavors, slow wine yeast fermentation at extremely low temperatures, and a unique barrel aging process involving Burgundy, Bordeaux, and French oak Chardonnay casks deliver a Reposado that's both innovative and deeply rooted in tradition.

Chrome Horse Society Blanco Tequila embodies an unapologetically modern approach to the art of tequila making. This 100% additive-free creation is the product of agave kissed by high-altitude sunshine & nurtured by the volcanic soils of the Tequila Valley. Defined by its impeccable taste, this silver tequila is refined through multiple distillations in copper-plated column stills, achieving supremely pure and artfully balanced tequila, making every sip a ride to remember.

Satryna Blanco marries luxury with tradition. Each bottle is a work of art, filled with tequila as vibrant and complex as the Mexican culture it represents. Sourced from the highlands of Arandas, each batch is a limited edition masterpiece, fermented with a special proprietary yeast and distilled in small batches in tiny stainless steel pots for ultimate smoothness. With a bottle that celebrates "Día de Muertos," it's a tribute to tradition and a nod to the celebration of life.
The tequilas in this collection transcend the ordinary and redefine excellence. Prepare to be transported by the unique character and profound flavors of these masterfully created spirits!

Smartass Corner

1) There are over 136 species of Agave. For tequila to be deemed truly ‘premium’ it must be comprised of 100% of the Blue Weber Agave species.

2) Volcanic soil enriches agave with silica & potassium, crucial for its growth, imparting the tequila with a signature minerality, unique richness, and a complex flavor profile.

3) Día de los Muertos, a vibrant celebration honoring the deceased, intertwines deeply with the cultural heritage of tequila. During this festival, tequila goes beyond being a drink, becoming a symbolic offering on altars to welcome spirits. It embodies joy and memory, connecting families and departed loved ones. Raised glasses in toasts strengthen bonds between the living and spirits, bridging worlds with each sip.

4) If the Tequila bottle label does not state that it’s made with 100% Blue Agave, then, by default, that tequila is a mixto (made with a minimum of 51% Blue Agave).

5) Cambio Tequila perfects 10-point process called "Método Refinado" with handpicked highland agave, slow-cooked in stone ovens, and tahona-pressed for purity. Utilizing volcanic-filtered water, wine yeasts for aromatic fermentation, and distilling below 50% ABV ensures a full-bodied spirit. Aged in over 13 unique barrels for unmatched complexity, Cambio champions sustainability with packaging from ancient "amate" fabric techniques, honoring traditions while creating a tequila of unparalleled elegance and depth.

6) Tequila goes bad with time! Generally, you have up to one year from bottling before both oxidation and evaporation diminish the quality of the tequila and destroy the delicate Agave flavor profile.

7) Agave plants for tequila are grown in two main regions of Jalisco: the high-altitude Los Altos and the valley floor near Tequila town.

8) Tequila's soul, the Weber Blue Agave, thrives in Jalisco's volcanic soil, needing 5-7 years to mature and reveal its sweet core, the piña.

9) Harvesting agave for tequila is an art, requiring jimadores to skillfully remove the leaves and extract the piña, the heart of the spirit.

So Terrible I Had To Write A Review

I never write reviews like this but this tasting box is the worst one I've had from Flaviar since I joined. Their whiskey tasting boxes have been pretty good, I think that's where Flaviar excels. The tequilas in this box are truly terrible in my opinion.

The Cambio Reposado has a terrible nose, like subdued rubbing alcohol and a really fake and artificial orange scent. It is weirdly thick, viscous, and syrupy in the mouth and just lingers with a very unpleasant spiciness.

The Chrome Horse Society Blanco has a very off vanilla, almost creamsicle scent to nose and is very thin and flat on the palate. There is more artificial vanilla flavor on the palate, which for me does not belong in blanco tequila. The mouthfeel is extremely thin and has a very short, alcohol-y finish that is very lackluster.

The Satryna has a very confused nose, it almost smells like a bundle of weird herbs that are starting to go bad. The palate is very lackluster, maybe a faint hint of lime and an underlying artificial sweetness. It has a very thin mouthfeel and almost no finish whatsoever.

Overall, I do not recommend this tasting box at all. I personally think there are way better tequilas out there and a handful of good ones that you can buy here on Flaviar. I would not spend your money on it, grab any one of the other whisky, gin, mezcal or other spirits boxes to get your money's worth.

Great tasting!

This was so fun- everything was perfectly packed and beautiful presentation. So fun to learn about new tequilas we hadn't tried yet and they had lots of info on each as well. Would purchase these brands again and would def do more of these tasting boxes!
