A powerful statement Bourbon from Traverse City Whiskey Co. with the flavors of pecan pie.
Not surprisingly, Traverse City Whiskey Co. is located in Traverse City — a small hamlet in northern Michigan. If they were any further north they’d be in Canada, which is why they call their little shop the "Whiskey of the North." Chris Fredrickson founded Traverse City Whiskey Co. with his partners — Jared Rapp and Moti Goldring — in 2012. Like many new Spirits companies, they sourced their spirit for the first few years while they got the stills up and running and the Whiskey in the barrels for aging. But things are going well and they are using their own spirits these days to craft a remarkably wide range of Whiskeys.
Traverse City Barrel Proof Bourbon is just what it sounds like — their signature XXX Straight Bourbon bottled in single barrel lots at cask strength. Each cask used is hand selected and placed delicately into the bottles uncut and au’natural. That’s why the ABV varies from 57.5% ABV to 60% ABV. The mach bill is simple — corn, rye, and malted barley. But the craftsmanship, flavor, and power are straight-up tasty.
