Smooth Ambler is one of the oldest craft Whiskey producers in the United States which used to source Whiskey from other merchants and married it with their own Spirit. Now, they bring an entirely new beast to the market, a 100% West Virginian Wheated Bourbon. What's a wheated Bourbon, you ask? Well, it's all in the name. Bourbon has to contain at least 51% corn while the rest can be any other grain. Wheated Bourbons use - yes, you guessed it - wheat.
It's lavish, it's decadent and it yields sweeter and smoother Spirit. Smooth Ambler uses locally sourced corn, wheat and malted barley, and ages the amber potion in #4 char barrels in the mountains of West Virginia for at least five years. At 100 proof, Big Level brings sweetness and smoothness of corn and vanilla while the flavor is predominantly creamy and wheaty. It's a true Appalachian Whiskey that sets itself apart from its neighbor, the Kentucky Bourbon. It's patience and knowledge that makes good Whiskey, but not every Whiskey can say it came from the picturesque Greenbrier Valley, the true America.
