Lush and captivating Bourbon.
The founders of Pinhook chatted about their love of Kentucky, horses, and Whiskey. They joked about buying a bunch of private barrels and when they all realized it ain't really a joke, they went and did it. They decided to pay homage to their three passions and created this first cask-strength three-grain Bourbon (corn, rye and malted barley). "Pinhooking" means buying young thoroughbred horses, raising and selling them as racehorses. It's a Pimp my Ride sort of situation. And that's what the Bourbon Friends are doing with Whiskey: they find a promising barrel of MGP and create a unique blend they dedicate to a young racing horse. The trick is to generate higher demand for the batch if said horse does well in their career.
This very expression is as ritzy and lush as those elegant ladies with huge and expensive hats, who bet on their favorite equine racer. It brings sweet aromas of pastries and oranges that make a wonderful introduction to a rich palate of pralines, brioche, and cocoa. The Pinhook Bourbon Country Cask Strenth won Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and rightfully so. Bet on this horse, Bourbonheads.
