A taste of local Boston Harbor history in fragrant and citrusy Gin form.
Boston Harbor Distillery is a waterfront warehouse by the Neponset River, where Rhonda Kallman decided to use her 25 years of experience in making craft Beer to create something new and exciting. She hired Dr. James Swan, the world-famous Whiskey expert, and John Couchot, an award-winning distiller. The magic trio came up with hundreds of barrels of various Whiskeys, a small-batch Rum, and even distilled Beer (to remind Rhonda of the craft Beer movement).
George Lawley & Sons Shipyard used to occupy the same space where the distillery stands today. They built yachts that went on to win the America's Cup as well as World War II minesweepers. Lawley's Small Batch Harborside Gin is the distillery's way of paying tribute to the rich local history. The 100% wheat Spirit is made with lemon, tangerine, and orange peels, angelica and orris root, coriander, juniper, and water from the Quabbin Reservoir. The 90-proof Gin is fragrant and citrus-forward, equally delicious for sipping or mixing.
