A warm, fruity, and floral Rye Whiskey from the experienced hands of the Mazza Family.
The Mazza Family has been in the Spirits business in the US Northeast since 1972. The Mazza Vineyard and Mazza Winery have been staples to locals along the New York / Pennsylvania boarder. In 2005 they needed more space and started construction of a new facility along Route 20 in Upstate New York on the shore of Lake Erie, but with an eye to future expansion. The brewery and distillery were outfitted in 2015 — transforming them into a Spirits-making trifecta.
Five & 20 Straight Rye Whiskey is crafted from local 80% New York rye grain and 20% malted barley. So, it’s definitely a "high rye," but with higher than average amount of malted barley as well. The combination delivers all the flavor and spice of a classic Rye Whiskey with a lightness and floral quality from the malt. The Spirit is aged for eighteen months small American oak casks and bottled at a near perfect 45% ABV. Wine Enthusiast magazined rated this award-winning dram a "Best Buy," and we agree.
