Kentucky Whiskey by a mad scientists trained in Islay.
Innovation comes from people who dare to take a different path, learn from the best and use their knowledge to shake it up, as our queen, Mrs. Taylor, likes to say. Darek Bell, dapper artisanal distiller from Kentucky, earned his chops at the Bruichladdich Distilling Academy in Islay, Scotland and his holy mission is to create Whiskey that’s better and different. He opened shop in 2009 with his childhood pal Andrew Webber and started handcrafting small-batch, ultra-premium hooch that won a ton of awards since then.
Corsair’s Wildfire is the distillery’s first grain-to-grass Whiskey. Their barley was grown, malted and smoked at the Bell’s Bend farm in Tennessee. And when it was smoked, hickory wood was used, which gives the grain (and Whiskey) the unique and smooth BBQ character with notes of smoke, caramel and butterscotch. This multiple-award cowboy brings the atmosphere of summer and socializing in the backyard to your home bar, and it’s both a fine sipper, or a delicious component in a cocktail. Did anyone say smoky Old Fashioned?
