The latest Fusion from Bardstown Bourbon is the best of old and new with a blend of sourced and house-made Bourbons.

Bardstown Bourbon Company is a remarkable facility recently expanded to produce six million proof gallons of Spirit per year — making it one of the largest distilleries in the world. But it is also a gleaming, modern building with sharp edges and the latest in scientific tools for great Whiskey-making.

Founded in 2013, they started by filling their rickhouses with sourced Spirits to support their construction. With massive amounts of product pre-sold out into the future, they are the central production hub for dozens of famous brands — including Jefferson’s, High West, James E. Pepper, and many more. But they carve out a selection to release under their own band as well.

Bardstown Bourbon "Fusion" Series #4 is a complex "fusion" of 40% sourced, thirteen-year-old Kentucky Bourbon with three house-produced Bourbons comprising the remainder — two of them three years old and the other aged four years. Each of the four different Spirits has its own mash bill. But because we have one member of the Flaviar team, who remembers how to do high school algebra, we can tell you that the resulting blend is comprised of 71.85% corn, 19.22% rye, and 8.73% malted barley. The resulting delectable dram is distributed in deco decanters at a delightful 47.45% ABV.

Smartass Corner:
Bardstown Bourbon currently organizes their releases into three categories. The Discovery series features sourced "discovered" Spirit. The "Fusion" series features in-house Spirit "fused" with sourced Spirit. The forthcoming "Origin" series will be 100% in-house production.

Appearance / Color
Raw Honey

Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aroma is light with notes of light molasses, grain on the talks, and light floral tones over a base of toasted wood.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
The aroma makes the palate open up sweeter that it is with a very nice profile of pecan pralines and a hint of menthol-lyptus and a dash of orange-blossom honey.

Finish
The finish is pleasantly long with a lingering hazelnut and pecan tone.
