If Frank Sinatra had a favorite Tequila, this would be it.

Partida Tequila is an up-and-coming Tequila maker, and they are making some muy bueno stuff. They named the company after the late Enrique Partida, a well respected blue agave farmer from the Tequila Valley in the heart of Jalisco. Partida Tequila’s Maestro Tequilero (Tequila Master) Jose Valdez oversees every step of the production process, from agave harvesting in the field till the final blending prior to bottling.

Partida produces a range of four Tequilas; a Blanco, a Reposado, an Añejo, and their top of the line Eleganté. All of them with a subtle, light sweetness that they are famous for.

At Flaviar, we get to taste a lot of great Spirits. Hey… it’s a tough job, but we all suffer through it for you. Anyway, Partida Tequila Reposado is kind of special. They age it for the standard six months like all Reposados, but in Jack Daniel’s casks. That’s the unique part. So along with the classic earthy fruit profile of a great Tequila, you also get the vanillas and tangy sweet character of good ‘ol Jack in the background.

Make no mistake… this is definitely a fine Tequila. But that special cask aging adds a really hip complexity that makes it stand out. And the Jack Daniels tie in is undeniable, so if Frank Sinatra had a favorite Tequila, this would be it. Uncle Flaviar has taken a few drams for himself and started singing “My Way” in the hallway. You should've seen it.

What does Partida Tequila Reposado taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Partida Tequila Reposado and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

James
James,
One of the best I have had. Smooth and sweet tasting

Brenda
Brenda,
Smooth! Great for sipping or margaritas.

Carl
Carl,
Personal preference is for anejo, but found this to be a nice change. I would consider it as a “sipper”

AJ
AJ,
Delicious

Mark
Mark,
Smooth! Great for sipping. I didn't get the ash flavor some have noted but will see if I pick it up in my next class.

SCOTT
SCOTT,
Best ever

Stephanie
Stephanie,
We enjoyed this one. Sweet and buttery in the beginning and just a little kick at the end.

Melissa
Melissa,
I tried this both straight up and in a margarita - not good mixed because it has a certain oiliness/ash quality that detracts from the cleanliness of a margarita. Straight up, it's drinkable, but doesn't knock my socks off.

Jerry
Jerry,
I thought it had a great flavor. I got a hint of ashiness.

David
David,
Pale gold. Strong vanilla nose that continues into taste. Smooth start with a decent burn of a finish with a hint of nut. I’m thinking chilled might bring out some of the more subtle flavors.

Christopher
Christopher,
I like this tequila...like it, but not quite love it. It think it’ll be better in a quality mixed drink than straight up.

Caleb
Caleb,
Honestly this is a really good reposado. Sweet, acidic, and tangy, but not too sweet. Really well balanced. Tastes great straight.

Bonnie
Bonnie,
It was just okay

Susan
Susan,
Love it

Andrew
Andrew,
Very smooth and complex tequila- wonderful at this price point. Citrus dominated the nose. Charred oak and vanilla dominate the finish

Andrew
Andrew,
Smooth and complex tequila at a great price point. Citrus notes dominate the smell. Vanilla and almond accentuate the long and smooth finish

Peter
Peter,
Very light, smells very 'clean for tequila'. Definitely a higher quality than most tequilas out there. A good light sipper where reposado should be. Balanced. Didn't get any Jack Daniels flavor. Pleasant long finish.

Brita
Brita,
The first time I had this was at a tasting bar in Disney. It was amazing! so I went home to find it near our house. The first bottle was amazing, the second a few weeks later, made me want to scrape my tongue.... the bottles vary widely and i think some of the top and tail are being bottled and sold, yuck. I don't trust them anymore

Steve
Steve,
Ok but ANEJO is the standard!

Dave
Dave,
We really liked this tequila! Partida is smoother than the Patron anjeo that we thought was the best before we tasted Partida!
