All about Amrut

The standard Amrut Single Malt is a NAS Whisky with a 46% ABV. It is a fruity, tropical Whisky. Whereas Amrut Fusion is a blend of peated Scottish and nonpeated Indian barley. They also have a heavily peated Amrut peated single malt Whisky.

The Distillery produces a massive amount of blend Whiskies such as Prestige Portfolio, MaQ Scotch Whisky, and MaQintosh Premium Whisky.

All about Amrut distillery

Amrut Distillery is located in Kambipura, which is 20 km away from Bangalore. A re-distillation plant used to produce extra netural alcohol is located in Kerala. The word Amrut means "nectar of the gods." It was founded in 1948, and soon after, Amrut started to supply spirits to the Indian army.

The Company grew until 2004, when it became famous worldwide after marketing Amrut single malt internationally. Amrut produces 7 million liters of Whisky per year. The majority is used for blends.

The grain comes from the Punjab and Rajasthan regions in North India. The barley comes from Delhi and the water is delivered by trucks from a well. Amrut has 6 fermentation tanks, and a  6500 liter wash still. The spirit still, is larger than the wash still, having a capacity of 8000 liters.
