A perfectly balanced limited-edition Bourbon.

There has been distilling on the Woodford Reserve Distillery site for more than 235 years, making it the oldest Bourbon distillery in Kentucky. Now owned by Brown-Forman — one of America’s largest wine and spirits companies — it has been refitted and set to expand. Since the beginning, the folks at Woodford have been influential in the development and codifying of Bourbon production. In short, they helped invent the spirit as we know and love it today.

Kentucky is famously a state of horses and Bourbon. “The Derby Bottle” has been a Woodford tradition since 1999 to celebrate the most famous horserace in the world — the Kentucky Derby. Woodford Reserve Kentucky Derby 148 Limited Edition Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the 23rd limited edition that was released in April 2022. Every release features the work of a different renowned artist and this year, the label showcases the oil painting of Kentucky artist Jamie Corum. This offering is perfectly balanced with more than 200 detectable flavor notes. So, sip it neat and take all the layers in, or make a craft mixed drink like a Mint Julep or an Old Fashioned.

A good bourbon with some complex flavors. I found hints of wood and some spice with a sweet finish.
