Spectacularly special Speysider.
Ask any Whisky lover and they'll tell you The Macallan is a classy gentleman. The distillery by the river Spey has been making Whiskies since 1824 and they sure do know a thing or two about making great Scotch.
The distillery stands on a ridge above the River Spey and it got its name from an ancient church that had been burnt down in the 15th century. They have two "secrets" up their sleeve: top secret specially cultured yeast for the fermentation, and the smallest stills within the Scotch industry.
The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak is as luxurious as it comes: aged for almost two decades in cherry-picked ex-Oloroso Sherry casks straight from Jerez, which make sure the Scotch is rich and complex with a full-bodied palate and a lovely mahogany color. It could be described in three words: mature sherry, ginger, and vanilla.
