Talisker distillery was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskil at Carbost, on the Isle of Skye. In all these years, Talisker's distillation method has remained virtually unchanged, refusing to go with the flow of the industry, well...asides from the necessary health and safety improvements. As the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker's drams are quite idiosyncratic, defining an Island Malt style that is very much their own and reflect the rugged yet beautiful landscapes of Scotland.
Talisker 8 Year Old Special Release 2021 is part of the highly-sought after collection of Diageo’s Special Releases. This time, the theme was Legends Untold and each release tells a hidden story from an iconic distillery. Notice the mighty sea monster menacingly staring at you from the label… Anyway, this magnificent spirit releases cereal aromas, briny seaweed and smoke. The palate is smooth and oily with bold flavors of savory salt, lightly sweet notes, and more smoke. Enjoy this fruit of Talisker’s heavily peated reserves neat or with a drop of water.
