Aged and blended to perfection.

The Dartigalongue family, pioneers of Armagnac distillation in Bas Armagnac, have a storied history. In 1838, Pascal Dartigalongue established the first Maison d'Armagnac in Nogaro, followed by his son Joseph, who snatched up a massive vineyard in Salles d'Armagnac in 1870, conveniently located near Nogaro. In 1978 Pascal's great-grandson Pierre opened a museum that houses the entire archive of Maison D'Armagnac, including every last piece of correspondence since 1838 and a jaw-dropping collection of Vieux Armagnacs in their original bottles. Finally, in 2010, the family's fifth-generation producer Françoise Dartigalongue convinced her niece's husband, the Parisian agronomist Benoit Hillion, to ditch the big city and take the helm of the family business.

Dartigalongue's Bas Armagnac Hors d’Age is both classic and exceptional. It’s crafted by skillfully blending several complimentary vintages — one to bring fruity notes, another to add tannins, and a third to bring floral accents — resulting in a balanced and complete Spirit that is fresh and full of flavor. Dartigalongue's aging process involves two distinct periods in dry and damp wood respectively. The first softens the youthful edges of the distillate, while the second brings harmony and softness to the Armagnac. The result is a vibrant and generous mouthfeel that showcases the flavors of baked apples, oak, toffee, and vanilla, with a subtle hint of tobacco towards the end. It's the perfect partner for foie gras mi-cuit or a chocolate fondant, creating a smashing culinary duet.
