— The best bourbon I’ve ever had!! So smooth and silky!

— This was and is the one that got me into bourbon drinking. I never have smelled or taste cherries on a bourbon. I didn’t even knew what bourbon was. I thought all was whiskies. I was wrong. This is my Friend is a special drink

— Didn't notice a "cardboard wood spice / vegetable cardboard" (?)" like the last reviewer, I thought it was great. Smooth, but not too smooth, great flavor. Could tell it was finished but wasn't sweet or jammy. Would buy again.

John
John,
Well made but cherry and figs aren't my favorite flavors.

Mike
Mike,
Very good but barrel finish is not quite right. Oaky or something that is not bourbon. Not as good as regular Woodinville and the Woodinville rye.

Bruce
Bruce,
I felt that the port cask completely overpowered the bourbon. This has more competing flavors rather than complimentary ones. It tasted more like an old and stale desert wine than it did a bourbon. Extremely dry. The nose is very dark red grape. I will say, for a relatively low proof, a drop of water goes a long way in separating the thick and competing oils to leave behind a simple, down the middle whiskey. This is a unique pallet and I will keep on hand for guests to try but I will not be the one to finish the bottle. It is always fun to explore something new, but this was not the path for me.

A very light bourbon. Drinkable and approachable, but not my preferred style.

Thomas,
A very well made whiskey. Cherry-sweet with no rough edges. Not really my preferred style, but I appreciate the quality found here.

Phil
Phil,
Apparently this was the straight bourbon and then aged additional six months in the port cask. It smells kind of like the straight bourbon but with a rich and sweetness to it (has a caramel, brown sugar along with hints of grapes) on the nose. Rich fruity sweetness like nectar, followed by layers and hints of almond and citrus. The light but long lingering of all the flavor you just tasted balance well and takes me back to Bellevue winter sitting in front of a fireplace. Woodinville did not disappoint, would buy this again, the price point feels so much more expensive than what I have paid.

Todd
Todd,
The nose is heavily cherry, but on the palate it’s bready with some notes of stone fruit. Finish is long and oaky with virtually none of the accumulating sweetness I find in some other port barrel-finished bourbons. Good stuff.

Marc
Marc,
Great fruit notes from the port finish, jammy on the nose at first pour. Good spice so you know that it is a bourbon.

luke,
Cardboard wood spice finish. Too young? Blinded it against angels envy and others- last place. Wouldnt buy again.
luke
luke,
But I will say let it sit for a while and the vegetable cardboard note subsides some
Andy
Andy,
Dark fruit and sugar sweet nose. Chocolate and sweet taste with cinnamon finish. One of my favorites.

Jeffrey
Jeffrey,
I'm a fan of Woodinville Bourbon to begin with, and finishing this Bourbon in a Port cask was a great move. The cherry flavor is rich and smooth, the Bourbon itself is bold and complex, and the Port really shines in the finish. Tastes great straight (haven't tried it over ice yet, not sure I will) and, if you're so inclined, makes a very rich cherry-bomb of a Manhattan.

Jim
Jim,
I can’t say that this bourbon is anything more than a four. It just did not lay nice on the palate at all. It is not a bourbon that I would drink neat for sure. Over ice it becomes a little more tolerable. I can see it would be good in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned. My wife actually likes a little in her glass of port wine which wasn’t that bad.

Michael
Michael,
I really like the flavor of the port casks in this product - it disappeared way too fast!

Robert
Robert,
An incredibly easy drinking whiskey that has just enough spice to entice. The cherry flavor is strong in this one and it gives a warm, sensual mouth feel. The port cask flavors are absolutely obvious in this but do not detract from the bourbon itself. This is an incredibly delicious offering in that $50-70$ range.

Luis,
Perfect on the rocks

Allan
Allan,
Overall a decent bourbon. Not very much of a port finish in the taste but worth the price.

Brian
Brian,
Smooth

Kyle
Kyle,
I'm new to whiskey, but I live 6 miles south of Woodinville Whiskey in Washington, so it was a logical place for me to start. I did a tasting and distillery tour and fell in love with their straight bourbon! This bourbon finished in a port cask is even more flavorful. I would highly recommend picking up a bottle, or better yet, stop by if you are in Seattle!
