Member Reviews and Ratings of W.L. Weller 12 Year Old Wheated Bourbon Whiskey
Tastes like it smells. Notes of almond and vanilla. One of my favorites of all time
Worth every penny
Delicious smooth and drinkable
Don’t miss the opportunity! Top shelf Bourbon.
All time favorite. Sweet and smooth. Drinkable for any pallet - novice or expert. Weller 12 was my first foray into the world of quality bourbon.
Definitely my favorite bourbon!
This would get 10 stars if you could still find it at suggested retail prices. I remember going through a couple bottles when they were less than $50 each thinking it was liquid gold. Now the price matches the taste.
Carmel apple cake. Nothing not to love
Best bourbon I’ve ever had. The butterscotch taste makes me feel like I took a trip to Willy Wonka - it’s that intense. And it lingers forever. No water or ice unless you’re an idiot.
best summary ever.
Tremendous depth of flavors.
Prefer to my Old Rip 10 year. Smoother with less bite at the end. My new favorite sipper.
VERY disappointed with this dram - for the price, COMPLETELY not worth it. Drams like Old forester 1920 prohibition or Weller antique 107 are significantly cheaper, much easier to get, and oh by the way, much better! This is a $50 whiskey that is just all hype. If you want Pappy, go get the real deal, as this one falls way short.
Sweet vanilla with an orange taste
This is the classic wheated bourbon and was my go-to when it was $30 a bottle... about 10 years ago.
Its still 30 to 50 in stores picked one up yesterday for 55.
Where did you find this for $50
Smooth and delicious. Perhaps the best I’ve ever sipped on!
I've only had one glass at a bar, but it definitely lived up to its hype. Possible one of the best bourbons I've ever had. Smooth, but not too smooth, still complex in its tastes from start to finish.
Honestly think it's kind of bland, doesn't impress. Wanted to try it just because of the hype behind it but it definitely doesn't live up to it. I'd be okay paying $30-$40 for it but if it's more I'd just let it go.
Not probably the best Weller....IS the best Weller! Wish I could find more....at retail price.
I love the Weller line, but this one is a bit overoaked in my opinion. If you love wood forward bourbons this one would be a good one to try.
Probably the best of the Wellers
As close to pappy as you’ll get
Rich and smooth with caramel corn and lush citrus to the nose and on the front end of the palette. Smooth and silky with a long finish but no alcohol bite at the end. Candied nuts, orange, cherries and underlying oak as a great background.
As good as it gets for a predictable, smooth and delightful daily drinker. All day long flavor profile with this whetted bourbon. Always enjoyed near, never mixed. Never had a bad sip, but it sadly only comes out on very special occasions based on its current rarity.
This is a very good Bourbon, paid MSRP and would rate it at that price point one of the best
Best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had all the Pappy’s and everything in between. Smooth, sweet, deep. Perfect.
Great bourbon to enjoy neat..... enjoyable flavors and nice finish. Not worth $250+ most places want a bottle. If you can find it for under $150 you’ll enjoy it even more.
Weller 12 is a good bourbon. The creamy mouthfeel is the best part of it. The nose is like candied vanilla, but it’s quite muted. The finish is short-medium and the palate is tasty, but reserved. It’s good, but it’s not special.
