A flavor rockstar… a Bourbon bomb… a perfect dram.
The name "Weller" has been around the horn a few times. It all started with the Stitzel-Weller Distilling Company — founded in 1935 and closed in 1972 during the famous "Whiskey Recession." The had a bunch of great brands when they closed, and the formulas and brands were sold off.
Today, the W. L. Weller brand is owned by Sazerac out of New Orleans and the Bourbons are distilled at their famous Buffalo Trace Distillery along with a wide array of Sazerac products.
We like our Whiskey strong. The vast majority of the Spirits in the US are bottled at 40% ABV — and that’s fine. We think that 46% is better. Once you get over 50% ABV you enter the "near cask strength" territory where you are making some rock’in craft cocktails.
Weller Full Proof is just what the name implies — that famous wheated Bourbon bottled at its full, natural cask strength of 57% ABV without chill filtration.
That means you get all of the aromatic esters and essential oils, and it’s powerful enough to stand up to ice like a rock star. The "normal" Weller wheated Bourbon is good… Weller Full Proof is a flavor explosion.

The aromas are powerful and complex — you get everything from stone fruits to leather and baking spices with plenty of oak.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
If you can take it neat — and many men cannot — the mouth waters with intense notes of english toffee and apricot with a rich mouth feel. With ice, the flavors open up in delectable waves of pecan praline and dark chocolate.
Finish
The finish is long and lingering — making a full glass a seamless and continual experience from first sip to the last.
