A 75cl bottle of Buffalo Trace's stunning bourbon William Larue Weller, named after the man famed for being the first to create "wheated bourbon", in which the spicy rye grain is substituted for wheat in the mashbill. The result is a smooth, supple little sippin' whiskey.

Antti
Antti,
It is a very good, balanced, 'Wheated Bourbon'' that has an aromatic birth with notes of caramel & spices; while a rich & toasty life adds notes of wheat, cocoa, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, nuts & cedar; that leads to a balanced & oily death with hints of banana, orange peel, caramel & pepper.

So smooth

John
John,
Just a stunning bourbon. Silky smooth flavors and perfect alcohol content. On the nose you get caramel, banana, and vanilla. Yet on the palate, the taste is very similar to the nose. It's sweet but not syrupy. The wheaty smoothness creates the perfect finish balanced with just the right amount of spice and heat to finish. One of the very best Bourbons I've had.

Yeah, you know what you’re getting yourself into with this one. An all time classic. Should absolutely buy it if you can find it at a good price.

David
David,
This is up there alongside the best bourbons I’ve ever tasted yet half the price. Highly recommended sipping whisky.

Awesome Bourbon. Oak and spice with an oily mouthfeel. Very smooth. One of the best for the price (if you can get it for retail).

Would be fantastic if the ABV% was closer to 50%, but still a fantastic dram, but only if you get it at MSRP! Definitely worth buying secondary price (100-120 would be a good deal) if you haven’t tried it, everyone should try all the Wellers before they die(except maybe the Special Reserve, that’s daily drinker quality, but rare and for more expensive than its worth at secondary rates). Weller 12 is fruit, vanilla, light caramel, and floral notes all packed into a mildly spiced bourbon. Nose is pretty similar to the palate, has a fantastic mouthfeel, and the finish is very long. Definitely a bottle you save for special occasions, but mostly because of its rarity, otherwise, I’d drink it everyday(with some OWA107 in the mix too though) overall- 87/100

Andrew
Andrew,
Not worth the $150-200 secondary market pricetag, but if you have a good buddy at the liquor store that will give it to you for under $75 go for it.

George
George,
Still holds the crown as my favorite. Exceptionally smooth with all the complexity of 12 years in the barrel. Perfect sipping for any occasion, just wish it was easier to find.

Tony
Tony,
This is without a doubt the best whiskey I’ve tasted, only problem is how difficult it is to find so I’m reluctant to drink much of it.

Tristan
Tristan,
Probably the best Bourbon I’ve had yet. The color is deep and rugged. Perfumed aromas of flowers and red apples. Complex palate that falls off on the finish only to surprise you with a second wave of flavors: tangerine, herbs, mocha. Absolutely amazing.
