The Willett Family Estate series by legendary Kentucky Bourbon Distillers (silent since the early Eighties) was created with sourced Whiskies. In 2012, KBD reopened and created this fine Straight Rye Whiskey.

It was matured in carefully selected White Oak barrels for six years and bottled from Barrel #147 (acquired from MGP) at 117.2 Proof.

Jerry,
If you love Rye this needs to be in on your shelf. It has the heat you would want but the smoothness you would expect at this price point. very Carmel forward with some orange and smoke on the back end.

Thomas,
Part of the lure here is that this is really hard to find and is ridiculously expensive. This is fantastic rye but I haven't gotten the chance to compare it side by side with the 4 year. Our local wine store got a barrel (around 150 bottles) and sold out in less than 5 minutes at $120 a pop. I'd pay the $120 but Flavair's $420 price tag is SILLY. I've found this in bars for $18 a pour. Read the reviews on Willett 4 and I guess expect a better version with this one.
