Widow Jane Distillery — a name that may send shivers down your spine, but trust us, it's not a ghost story. It’s actually a hauntingly good craft distillery that produces bold and rich Whiskey steeped in the unique terroir of New York. The brainchild of aerospace engineer Daniel Preston and chocolate expert Vince Oleson, their distillery began as a chocolate factory before it turned to Whiskey production. Daniel designed and engineered their one-of-a-kind stills to give all the subtle flavors in the ingredients a chance to shine. Widow Jane is all about quality, using only GMO-free ingredients and the legendary limestone mineral water from the Rosendale mines. This water, used to build American icons like the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, gives their Whiskey a distinct mineral profile that sets it apart from all others — and if you still don't believe us, just check out all the gold medals from Spirits competitions they've racked up.

Their Decadence 2022 Edition features a 10YO Bourbon aged to perfection and finished in barrels that used to hold the sweetest of sweet — the artisanal maple syrup from Crown Maple. The result is a Whiskey that will end your bland booze blues and sway you into a dance of vanilla, burnt sugar, and cinnamon bar flavors. Bottled at 91 proof, expect a decadent ride through a rich, creamy, and slightly sweet sipping experience.

Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.

Pinhook’s high-proof Bourbon won Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, while the Straight Rye Whiskey won Double Gold the following year. In 2021, their Bourbon War Vertical Series 5 Year and the 2021 Flagship Bourbon won a Gold Medal each, with a Double Gold going to their Tiz Rye Time Vertical Series 5 Year. Pinhook is evidently doing something right!
Bourbons have very prominent notes of vanilla, as American White Oak is naturally high in vanillins.

Yellowstone Bourbon has had several owners throughout its history, including J.B. Dant, D.H. Taylor, The Glenmore Distillery, United Distillers & Vintners, the David Sherman Company, Heaven Hill, and David Sherman (now known as Luxco).
Bourbon must be made from a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn.

J.B.'s father, Joseph W. Dant, invented a still made from a poplar log at 16, as he couldn't afford a copper still. Although crude, it worked exceptionally well!
