The 17th bottling by the Whisky Sponge blog and Decandent Drinks (formerly Copper Monument) features an Islay Single Malt of speculative origins. The word is, the cask was old Allied Distillers stock, which narrows its origin down to one of two distilleries on the Islay south coast.
What is known, though, is that it was distilled in 1992 and bottled from a refill ex-Bourbon cask in 2020. It is an excellent mature Islay Whisky with hints of both Ardbeg and Laphroaig in character.

Can Scotch go bad? Technically, an unopened bottle of Scotch can last forever. Air is the only true evil to Whisky; once the liquid is oxidized it is no longer immortal. After opening, as long as you store your Whisky in a cool, dry place, it will last another 5 years.
