Mike
Mike,
I was a little skeptical of trying a peated whiskey as I thought it might be more of a “novelty” spirit. I was pleasantly surprised by its smokey overtones complemented by a caramel sweetness and a peppery finish. I quite liked it. I will definitely order a bottle. Props to the Texas family that created this great whiskey.

Roland
Roland,
Caramely peppery smoky - the mesquite started to come through as I let the whiskey open up more. I liked it

Gil
Gil,
Bitter notes of black pepper overwhelmed with black tea. I do not taste smoke like I would want similar to a good scotch like Laphroig or Ardbeg. If they were shooting for smokey types of good Scotch they missed.

Chris
Chris,
One of the best whiskeys I’ve had in a while. Smooth, rich, and smokey. Heavy nose of smoke and tea, with a mid that’s sweet, but not cloying.

Josh
Josh,
Tastes like a campfire, it's too bad it also burns like a campfire.

Ben
Ben,
Lightly smoked and fairly well balanced.

Hunter,
Wow. Unlike anything else but definitely bespoke. If you do not like smoke this is waaaaay to much on the nose and palate. If you are a fan of smoky islay scotch you may enjoy this if the strong mesquite bbq flavor does not throw you off.

Alex
Alex,
An outstanding southwestern take on a Scottish single malt. The floral & caramel introduce themselves soft on the nose followed closely by the smoke, pepper, tobacco, & black tea that leaves intense profile though the finish. The dark chocolate at the very end tones down the spice to make it an outstanding choice & a new favorite!

brad
brad,
Very nice. A sherry finish would make this a 9, I think. Oddly similar to Highland Park 12, which I enjoy. Might be just slightly overpriced, but at least worth a try at current pricing. I will probably pick up another bottle. It’s enough different from Scotch that it’s worth having as a conversation piece for whiskey fans or just to enjoy the occasional evening.

Gary
Gary,
Almost peaty. Loverly.
