Oliver Juanillo founded a sugarcane and tobacco plantation in Cuba in the 19th century. Quickly thereafter followed a distillery, which operated successfully until 1959, when Cuba was in the midst of the revolution. The founders of Oliver & Oliver fled with their know-how into exile to the Dominican Republic. There they found the conditions to produce high quality Rum to be even better. Oliver & Oliver produce the likes of PuntacanaTres Hombres, Quorhum and other top Rums.

Vizcaya Rum Cask No. 21 VXOP is a blend of 18 and 21 year old Rums distilled from sugar cane juice (rather than molasses) and aged in ex-Bourbon casks. Rums produced from sugar cane juice tend to be less sweet and more pungent than those produced from molasses (think Zacappa). Bang-for-the-buck Rum of the year!
