An elegant, balanced, Port-finished combination of Scottish and Virginian Single Malts.

The Blue Ridge Mountains of central Virginia are better known for Moonshine and renegade distilleries. Virginia Distillery Company is changing all that. The late Dr. George G. Moore moved arrived in Virginia from Ireland in 1970 where he raised his family and dreamed of making Whisky. In 2011, that dream become a reality when he founded Virginia Distillery Company with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law — who continue to run the operation. They currently have four Malt Whiskies in their portfolio, with another specially-sourced and aged Single Malt version due in 2020.

Virginia Distilling Port Cask Finished Highland Whisky is actually a blend of two Single Malts — one from Scotland and the other from their Virginia stills. The Scottish spirit arrives fully matured. The Virginia malt is aged one year — but don’t let that single year worry you. The two are married and finished in domestic Port casks for depth and complexity and bottled at a perfect 46% ABV. The net result is elegant and tastes like the Highlands it’s named after.

Ratings & Reviews
The worst American Single Malt I've had so far. I'm keeping the bottle around to share with people as a cautionary tale. Would love to find out what Highland distillate they put in here.
The only bottle I’ve ever given away to someone because I disliked it THAT much.
Love it. Was super smooth and tasted like honey. We get a bottle every time we head to Virginia.
Meh... Didn't like the port cask finish.
Oh this is such s wonderful mix of Highland Scottish whiskey and good old American whiskey. Has a Smokey taste. We go to VA routinely to purchase more, not available here in NC.
