Top reviews for Virgil Kaine Ginger Infused Bourbon:
— I have become a major fan. The local toddy shop recommended this because I typically use ginger beer and I was hooked. It will provide a spicy burn that may be daunting at first as you will discover it is infused with ginger vs. flavored. I drink this straight with a chilled glass or occasionally with ice and find it is better than my typical bourbon and ginger beer/ale/tonic. It is a great slow sipper, yet be prepared that you will go through the bottle faster than you think.
— Loved this blend. The ginger actually was sweet and not too spicy. On the rocks was great. Be careful, you can consume the bottle quickly.
— I have a new favorite bourbon. I am a fan of ginger and it wasn't too sweet. Yes, please.

I had this as part of a Charleston Flight at Poogan's Porch. It's everything they say it is. Delicious!
Ginger melds beautifully with this bourban. Good job!

Excellent. A little sweet but nice and smooth. Was a hit with all of my guests who are bourbon drinkers.

Love the smoothness of this bourbon and the hint of ginger. I typically drink my bourbon with a splash of gingerale, but this I can drink straight
I have a new favorite bourbon. I am a fan of ginger and it wasn't too sweet. Yes, please.
Very light hint of ginger, smooth, slightly sweet
Love this! Incredibly smooth and just right for a cool evening.
I was expecting more ginger flavor and spice. WAY to sweet and not enough bourbon taste. I had it neat and on the rocks. It might be good in mixed drinks for folks that do not like a strong taste of bourbon.
I really like this! I love bourbon, and I love anything with ginger: ginger chews, candied ginger, ginger tea, etc. This has a nice ginger zing and a good bourbon flavor. It’s good neat, and I look forward to trying it in cocktails.
Loved this but then again I am a big ginger fan. It adds a little kick to the bourbon which I feel no refreshing. Good for sipping or I prefer to add a little ginger beer and bitters (your choice) for an old cocktail called horse head.
Not what I expected at all. Did not get any hint of Ginger at all. Just a cloying artificial sweetness. Ginger flavored whiskey. Great idea, what could go wrong?
Smooth and very similar to Wild Turkey
This bourbon is not for everyone. I must commend the two chefs who created it for thinking boldly. The spice of the ginger is the first thing that hits your nose, and your tongue. It hits with a punch. Then, it is a fairly smooth bourbon. The finish has lots of honey and vanilla flavors, and orange zest, making this bourbon have a sweet finish. This is not a beginners bourbon. This is for the bourbon enthusiast who wants something different in his home bar. A small amount of ice opens up the aromas and flavors. I enjoy sipping this ginger infused bourbon at the end of a long work week. You will either really like it, or the ginger will be too much spice for you. I don’t see much middle road with this one.
It's a ginger flavored whiskey. If you don't love candied ginger straight or ginger teas you would probably hate this. It's not super sweet and had a nice kick of ginger spice.
Terrible. Will need to mix it with something and give it to guests
This is one of the worst bourbons I’ve ever tasted. I would not wish this on my freshman year of college self. The ginger flavor tastes artificial and you would need to drown it out with a mixer (or ten) of some sort.
Too much ginger flavor
Nice sweet ginger. Good on loose rocks...
Loved this!! Great flavor and very smooth. Would definitely get another bottle.
Was hoping for a good ginger bite, but it is very sweet, good mixer
Too sweat. Like 15/20 grams of sugar per drink. :( May be good for the soda drinkers who enjoy 1/2 gallon of coke cup you hold with 2 hands :)
This was by far my favorite. No mixers needed with this one. straight on the rocks. I haven't chilled in the freezer yet. I am going to order my second bottle
Sweet and flavorful without tasting like a cheap “flavored” whiskey. Just fine on a large ice ball, but with some ginger ale, it explodes pleasantly.
Very sweet/syrupy but overall enjoyable
The added ginger flavoring is adequate, but not overpowering. Adds to the base flavor perfectly. However, if you aren't a fan of ginger, take a pass as it is not a subtle flavor.
Loved this and will definitely get another bottle. Very smooth with great taste. No bite and not heavy. Can’t wait to get another one!
Wonderful product I learned about several years ago. You won't be disappointed when having this Ginger Infused Bourbon.
Very smooth and easy to drin!!!
Love it. I am an amateur, so keep that in mind. Traditionally, I have mixed a lot of my whiskies with Coke. I’ve more recently started drinking bourbons neat. I quite enjoy Blanton’s and also like Woodford Reserve. This particular bourbon is not bad price-wise and serves its purpose of as a very nice sipping whisk(e)y over the rocks. It’s sweet in nature. A bourbon purist may not love it. That being said, I love anything ginger and tend to favor sweeter drinks. This hits the spot. It’s smooth all the way through with a nice ginger flavor. I would suggest that since this has a light, sweet flavor that you use an ice sphere instead of cubes because you will lose some of the flavor as your ice melts. If you try this, I hope you enjoy. I know I am enjoying quite a lot as sit with my wife listening to some Dermot Kennedy and George Ogilvie.
Decent - happy I ordered. It will not be my go to, but i will order again.
Very good Smooth hint of ginger no burn
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!!!! WOW!!!! Smooth, with a super ginger taste.
Way to sweet for my taste, but got better once I was mentally prepared for it.
One of the most disappointing bourbons have every had. I gave away to my son in college.
Very tasty, a nice after dinner sip.
Not a bad bourbon but the ginger flavor is fleeting at best
I'm not usually a bourbon drinker but ths is wonderful! I made a hot toddy for a cold... Added a bit of lemon and honey... very soothing! Also great as a nightcap.
Unique flavor that was refreshing.
I think if you like your Whiskey dry, you’ll probably not care for this but I found it delightful. I’m usually a Single Malt guy but this Bourbon was unique to my Palette, enough so that I purchased a bottle for a Cigar buddy who commented that it was sweeter than he had expected, with an ice cube or two he was a happy camper. I will definitely buy it again.
Really not very good. Great concept. Lack luster result.
Much too sweet, similar to many flavored bourbons. This made it difficult to drink beyond the first taste. To be fair, I’ve never been a fan of sweet or mixed drinks. Someone who enjoys those may be fond of this.
Very nice. Smooth. Easy drinker with just the right amount of ginger.
