Love it. I am an amateur, so keep that in mind. Traditionally, I have mixed a lot of my whiskies with Coke. I’ve more recently started drinking bourbons neat. I quite enjoy Blanton’s and also like Woodford Reserve. This particular bourbon is not bad price-wise and serves its purpose of as a very nice sipping whisk(e)y over the rocks. It’s sweet in nature. A bourbon purist may not love it. That being said, I love anything ginger and tend to favor sweeter drinks. This hits the spot. It’s smooth all the way through with a nice ginger flavor. I would suggest that since this has a light, sweet flavor that you use an ice sphere instead of cubes because you will lose some of the flavor as your ice melts. If you try this, I hope you enjoy. I know I am enjoying quite a lot as sit with my wife listening to some Dermot Kennedy and George Ogilvie.
I think if you like your Whiskey dry, you’ll probably not care for this but I found it delightful. I’m usually a Single Malt guy but this Bourbon was unique to my Palette, enough so that I purchased a bottle for a Cigar buddy who commented that it was sweeter than he had expected, with an ice cube or two he was a happy camper. I will definitely buy it again.
Much too sweet, similar to many flavored bourbons. This made it difficult to drink beyond the first taste. To be fair, I’ve never been a fan of sweet or mixed drinks. Someone who enjoys those may be fond of this.
