Germany meets Portugal.

The Germans are in no way behind anyone when it comes to the production of tiptop, craft Gins. Altonaer Spirituosen Manufactur started distilling their Gin only back in 2013. Stephan Garbe the father of Gin Sul had a great summer on the Portuguese coast that had to involve lot’s of G&T’s, where he got the idea, that he would love to produce a Gin with a Portuguese twist to other Gin enthusiasts. Add other great botanicals from around the world to that recipe and pure, clean water from ancient underground springs of Lüneburg Heath near Hamburg and you’ve got yourself a Gin that turns heads!

The unique component in this drink is Portuguese Lemon. These almost grapefruit-like Lemons grow on the coast of Vincenta, almost 3000 km away from Hamburg. Other botanicals vary from Coriander to Juniper and from Rosemary to Lavender and produce a beautiful, floral and citrusy Gin, that delivers a southern delight. Truly a refreshing and interesting take on the New Western Dry Gin. Summer in a bottle!

What does Gin Sul taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Gin Sul and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Hardcore Gin lovers say the word Martini should never be preceded by vodka, lobster or pomegranate. They say the original and only real Martini consists of Gin, vermouth & olives, period!

Great taste
Scott
Scott,
This is a richer, more herbacious gin than most I've tasted. I definitely agree with the sour and bitter aspects of the profile. I have not tasted it in a cocktail, but I imagine it would add a lot of uniqueness to a drink.
