What started out as an idea during one of many sauna sessions of a couple of friends from Finland, became a reality in 2012. The idea was to make the first Finnish Rye Whisky. Two years and a whole-lotta bureaucracy later the distillers fired up their stills and the Rye Spirit began to drop. Situated in a picturesque former Diary, formerly the biggest in Finland, they age their spirit where Cheese matured beforehand. Their pot still production results in around 40.000 litres of barrel strength Whisky per year. Being one of northernmost distilleries in the World they work only with Rye. Why you ask? Because Rye is supposedly the hardest to distill and what’s hard is always better. Or so the Finnish chaps say.
