Character Goatson

A double-cask offering from the birthplace of American Whiskey.

Twin Valley Distillers were founded by former chef Edgardo Zuniga as the third operating distillery in Maryland. Coming from Costa Rica, Edgardo has brought his heritage into Twin Valley's portfolio and added flavors of Central and South America and the Caribbean to the premium range of their Whiskeys. Based in Maryland, THE birthplace of American Whiskey, Twin Valley Distillers locally source their grain and cooperate with local farm partners, to support sustainability.

Twin Valley Maryland Whiskey Co 1812 Blended Bourbon Whiskey was matured in two different types of charred American white oak barrels that were sourced from Minnesota. This double-cask maturation resulted in a super balanced palate, packed with flavors of creamed corn, vanilla, licorice, and pepper graham cracker. The finish is smooth, slightly sweet, and long. This offering will work perfectly in your traditional Whiskey-forward cocktails but it’s layered enough to be enjoyed neat, too.

Limestone Branch Distillery, which produces Yellowstone Bourbon, also makes Minor Case Bourbon and Bowling & Burch Gin.

Bourbon Is a ''new barrel Spirit'': One of the legal requirements for Bourbon is that it only be aged in brand new oak charred barrels.
Bourbon must be made from a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn.
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.
At any given time, there are more barrels of Bourbon in Kentucky than there are people. The population of the Bluegrass State is about 4.4 million. Today there are more than 5 million barrels of Bourbon sitting in the rick-houses of that Old Kentucky Home. That’s nearly 300 bottles of Bourbon per person, or about 60 gallons each.

Pinhook’s high-proof Bourbon won Gold at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, while the Straight Rye Whiskey won Double Gold the following year. In 2021, their Bourbon War Vertical Series 5 Year and the 2021 Flagship Bourbon won a Gold Medal each, with a Double Gold going to their Tiz Rye Time Vertical Series 5 Year. Pinhook is evidently doing something right!
