Gregory,
So much corn. Not really pleasant. Tastes artificial
Michael,
Ok. Get lots of the sweet corn smell. Finish is fairly long.
Kyle,
Very heavy on the corn/alcohol, as others have noted. Having had other offerings from this distillery, my opinion is that it is very aptly named, and needed a couple extra years in the barrel
Michiel,
That’s bourbon. Corn, sweetness, a little bit of spice and some vanilla. Outspoken, yet accessible. Best enjoyed outside in the cold during a winter bbq.
guest,
I drink whiskey on the rocks regularly. I received this one as a gift and was excited to try due to the high price point. Although it had some of the caramel flavors others described, I found it had a strong corn/alcohol flavor. Also, the aftertaste was very harsh. I can tolerate this as a mixer, but couldn’t finish a neat pour. Disappointed and expected much better for the price.
Mat,
Really enjoyed this, distinctive caramel popcorn notes. Had as part of a tasting set and immediately ordered a bottle
Charles,
I did not like it. There was actually nothing I liked about it.
guest,
Not great ... in my opinion it’s very one dimensional and lacks the depth and complexity bourbon lovers covet.
Lee,
Quite pleasant to start, but not my favourite aftertaste. Better bourbons available for the money.
Steven,
Nice but a slightly weird char after taste
Charles,
I didn’t care for this bourbon at all. Even Williams is much better
Eyituoyo,
must have liked it, it's empty.
Brian,
My mother said that if I can’t say anything nice I shouldn’t say anything at all. And although I don’t have a lot to say of a positive nature, I feel I must say it just the same. I don’t have a ton of experience with ‘baby’ bourbons, but I can only say that I didn’t not care at all for this particular distillation. The sweetness and corn flavors were overwhelming.
And there was another flavor that I couldn’t place until read a recent review, and I agree that - as best as I and another reviewer could describe it is ‘rubber/burnt rubber’. I doubt that was really what I tasted, but my humble palate couldn’t be more specific. It may be good for some, but I’m not interested in buying another bottle - especially given the $50
price point.
Michael,
There are better bottles out there for this price point.
David,
I'll give this a 7 since it was a gift, otherwise a 6. If I am going to spend $50 on a whiskey, there's much better out there. Not my favorite. Wax is a nice touch on the bottle though.
Timothy,
Not Bad. Consumed on the rocks with a splash of club soda subdues the stronger than usual open field, grain like taste that, I guess, comes from the corn base. It is a unique taste that distinguishes itself from a Kentucky Bourbon. It's NOT trying to be a Kentucky Bourbon. It's a taste unique to the Hudson Valley. Maybe let it soak in a barrel for a little longer. It would be great for collaborating with another Whiskey product where they would compliment each other together in the bottle making the perfect highbred .
Loved the caramel finish. Nice and smooth but maybe nothing speciall.
Christopher,
Buttered popcorn flavours were overwhelming and the alcohol was not incorporated well at all. Very young, not my cup of tea but worked ok in a highball.
Joe,
I have no idea what the fascination with this distillery's bourbon is. Every bourbon I've tried from them is all corn. Makes a decent enough cocktail but it's a young, young, bourbon.
Alex,
Great strength to flavor ratio. A bit grassy tasting, which makes it unique amongst other bourbons in this price range, easy to tell on a taste test that it's Hudson.
Shawn,
Unique toasted oats taste with smooth caramel finish. Small bottle for the price.
Bryan,
Good smooth
Martin,
100% corn!!
Jon,
I live 1 mile from this distillery. What a shame! This is the worst whisky I have had the misfortune to try. "Rip your face off liquor." If you like a "bite" to your liquor, you get it in spades here. I do not. I pray that this improves as I prefer to "shop local". Also note" 350 ml rather than 750 ml bottle. Very expensive.
Patrick,
Goes down smooth. Almost a bit too smooth. Lacks complexity. I'd drink it again, but not sure if I'd have another on my shelf.
Uros,
Top! best recommendations!
Elliot,
It has a very interesting backstory and it’s certainly worth tasting, but I felt like one taste was enough.
Craig,
Strange initially, but tasty smooth finish
Giuseppe,
I love this bottle of Whiskey, it’s smooth and I always make sure I have a bottle in my cabinet for all types of events!
Craig,
Really enjoyed this, smooth and sweet. No bite in the beginning, smooth finish.
Dave,
Great all by itself
Donald,
Shared it with my good friend, what a wonderful surprise. You can definitely taste the vanilla with great undertones. I'll be purchasing more in the near future.
Tom,
Smells like corn and carmel, but taste is very grainy and harsh.
Joe,
Disappointed
Patrick,
Great sipping. Sweet and spicy
Sunil,
I think this might be my favorite whiskey ever. Bold, but not harsh. Sweet, but not cloying. Balanced on the front and back end. Amazing.
WESLEY,
I have tried this several times, and the primary tasting note is burnt rubber. Not one of my favorites.
Kelsey,
A sweet but not too sweet finish and would make excellent cocktails or on the rocks.
guest,
Really liked the flavor. Little sweet and Carmel.
Tim,
100% corn so it has a unique flavor and taste. Mellow, sweet.
Jared,
Smooth excellent flavor throughout. At the price point I find some better options. However would never pass up a glass of Hudson baby.
Thomas,
Sweet and smooth at first, underlying caramel, vanilla, maple notes, then smoky and spicy with a long, slightly burning yet pleasant finish. Not bad but overpriced in comparison.

Angie,
Smooth
Simonas,
Tried it in a bar. Nice vanila and caramel tones and quite smooth on the rocks.
Joel,
Smooth with a lot of carmel.
Hilary,
I liked it. But yes, it is a Baby. Has so much potential. I would appreciate it more if it were aged a bit more, I think.
Michael,
Not great. Heavy cereal and overproofed (and overpriced). Good for cocktails.
Scot,
I drink mine with ice. I loved this. A little sweeter and has a bit of the oak, Carmel and such as you’d expect. I’m getting a little banana, as well.
I’ll be getting this one, again!
guest,
Popcorn, but in a very good way
Adam,
Decent mixing Bourbon.
Alex,
Strong on the corn, not a huge fan of the aftertaste.
Bradley,
Unique process results in a unique and likeable flavor
Michael,
Tastes very young. If that's your thing, I can respect that.
Patrick,
Particularly smooth and sweet. When I added a touch of water, the alcohol bite quieted down and was very good. I agree that the price is on the high end.
Timothy,
Strange and sweet - not bad, but not for me
Stephen,
Not as sweet as I anticipated. Actually had a bit of an herb-like taste.
Jon,
Would be a good mixing bourbon if it was cheap, but doesn't have enough going on to stand on it's own.
Joe,
Yes, it’s very sweet and very smooth and nothing like a ‘typical’ bourbon but I really enjoyed it. No burn at all, considering the slightly-elevated proof. My wife (non-whiskey drinker) even liked it. I’d definitely keep this on hand for a relaxed sip, but I think it’s just too expensive.
Sunni,
Tastes very young and rushed to market. I enjoy a white dog (unaged whiskey) but not at this price point. Was not expecting the weak flavor and strong corn taste at $50-ish per bottle.
Jared,
If you like a sweeter taste to your bourbon, this is a go-to!
John,
Sweet up front and subtle bite throughout.
Theodore,
Very sweet. My wife actually enjoyed it. It’s very easy to drink. Flavors just aren’t that I was hoping for. Very corn based. Nothing wrong with that. Just nothing amazing
Shannon,
Not a fan
Daniel,
Not a "typical" bourbon, in a good way. Strong finish, mellow taste with sweetness on the back. Warm, complex whiskey that rewards you.
Garison,
Pastry flavor.
Laura,
We enjoy this one because it is local, we stop by the distillery and tasting room once a year or so, and we have some nostalgia for it, but it is not as complex as some others we usually get. It is trying to be soft and sweet but hasn't quite gotten there and still is a bit harsh. We do love some of the small batch liquors they are trying, so I think they are perfecting their craft and will get better over time.
Gavin,
The 100% corn mash bill hurts this whiskey. It’s sweet but will taste youthful and unfinished due to the lack of barley and wheat/rye. For the price, there are options that are worlds better. Pass on this one.
Michael,
OK sipper but tastes a little young...
Gavin,
That won’t change with age. This has a 100% corn mash bill. I agree and for the price it’s a no go whiskey for me.
jonathan,
This must be mixed as when I had it with 2 cubes I labored to finish my glass.
Matthew,
Nots of Carmel nice and smooth
Lucas,
Just got this in my last tasting box and loved it! Will go get a bottle this week.
Brian,
Too much of a corn note for my taste
Ian,
Hints of cinnamon, dark fruit, and malty flavors. A well balanced whiskey that I like a lot.
Jeanne,
It's okay. Smooth, but too sweet / corn forward for me.
Donald,
Starts as butterscotch finishes as melted plastic. One star might be too much
Danny,
High corn flavor not much to my liking. Finish too flowery for me. Like bourbons that make a statement. This one not saying much.
Matthew,
Exceedingly too much corn and completely unaged.
Sky,
Nice sipping bourbon. You can taste the corn and has a sweet finish. Would drink again
Leslie,
This bourbon is really awesome. Delicate flavor, delicious
Allen,
I don't get it--this has come reliably recommended to me, gets good ratings, etc. But each time I try it, I just taste a metallic, immature (Baby?), off-putting wannabe. The rest of the bottle sits on my shelf, waiting to be mixed or shared with guests who may like it.
Lisa,
On the nose, caramel, sweet corn, vanilla. One of the sweeter whiskeys I've tried. It is thicker on the tongue than most. Slight hug at the end. Very friendly.
David,
just ok
Mark,
Do not like
Kendra,
Love it
Jeremy,
Not smoky. Not sure why people would think that. Good $40 bottle.
Stephen,
Smooth, with a bit of a bite. Great on the rocks.
Matthew,
Thought it would taste better
Jack,
could maybe be a little sweeter. as it is, great body with a less than perfect finish
Debrenee,
For being aged in under 24 months, I think this is pretty good. Not as intense of a flavor as other well aged bourbons, but it’s price reflects that. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t mind having this on my shelf. Glad I got to try it!
Nelo,
An ideal whiskey for the beginner whiskey connoisseur.
Peter,
I'll give it a five. His doesn't live up to the reviews. Maybe I got a bad batch. I got this because I read it was sweet. It's NOT! Very musty..maybe see corn husks fell in this one? I'd only buy it again in hopes of getting a better batch.
William,
This is definitely for the fans of smoky. It's not as sweet or mild as I had hoped.
Kristen,
Love the sweetness and Smokey flavor
guest,
Still new to tasting different whiskeys and developing my palate. Can definitely agree with the app that this has sweet and corn notes with a caramel aftertaste. Average ruggedness for what I’ve tasted so far
Ross,
Smokey flavor, goes down nice. A little too burnt for my liking.
Bianca,
Earthy but sweet and sippable. A winner in my books!
Lindsay,
SWEET CHAR, SPICY BURN FINISH. EASY SIPPER
Johnny,
I was surprised at the difference in flavor and profile and can appreciate that but I wasn’t impressed.
Robert,
I never spoke with anyone who liked it and after trying it myself, I have to agree. Not my style of bourbon.
Ann,
Our tasting party had four members and they all agreed this Bourbon was the best. The sweet start and warm finish had everyone fighting to finish the glass.
Robert,
Bit of a burn, covered in spice
Simone,
Liked it more as I drank it more.
Corey,
Not for me. High corn alcohol flavor.
Bret,
Sweet up front with a little bit of spice to finish. Just didn't have as complex a flavor or finish as the other 2 out of the Off the Bourbon Trail box.
Lukas,
Smooth!
Jeff,
Overall a light spice bourbon. The nose was nice , but flavor on the needs a little more barrel time . Light heat in the finish . A mixer
Michael,
Love this
Laura,
Smooth. I liked it.
Craig,
This is a good Bourbon, but I didn't find it exceptional in any way. It tastes like several other good small batch bourbons I've tasted.
Matthew,
I liked it. I was rough at first and then finished smooth. Which I liked.
