The zero CO2 emission Fairtransport Rum.

We're extremely proud that we can introduce this fantastic Rum, again, for a second year running.

Here's the story. Every year a bunch of crazy Europeans sail the Tres Hombres Rum-runner to the Caribbean, where they load a new stock of tongue-picked premium Rum and take it on a 5 month voyage over the North Atlantic to bring it back to Europe — to the port of Amsterdam, where they are awaited by thirsty Rumminados.
This 2013 Edition Tres Hombres matures for 15 years in American oak barrels, using the Solera method (provided by Oliver & Oliver) letting the specific Caribbean climate contribute to its smoothness. There's only a few thousand bottles available of this collector’s item, however, there's only 70 at this point! Tres Hombres is the first and only authentic Rum-runner to exist in this millennium.

Flavour Spiral™

About The Flavour Spiral

What does Tres Hombres 2013 Rum taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Tres Hombres 2013 Rum and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

A little bit of etymology; nobody really knows where the word Rum comes from. Most popular suggestions are: Rum (the Romani word for potent), Rumbullion (an uproar), Saccharum (sugar in Latin), Rummer (a Dutch drinking glass).

Tasting Notes

Appearance / Colour
Honey gold.

Smell / Nose / Aroma
Creme brulee, sweet vanilla, ginger, fruits (melon, mango) and coconut.

Flavour / Taste / Palate
A smooth and complex texture, vanilla, citrus and spices at the front, followed by toffee, ginger, cinnamon, banana and chocolate.

Cognac-like, soft, sweet and round.

Excellent dram, a worthy "2012 edition" successor. Not cheap, but the whole package (story, fairtransport and the flavour) justifies the price.
